John Thompson
Photographer, Poet and Illustrator, John A. Thompson, Sr. began his artistic career in 1986 while attending the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His work has been published in Nite-Writer's International Literary Arts Journal, Zasshi Zo, Broken Streets, Pittsburgh City Paper, The Aurora Review, Pedestal Magazine, The Adirondack Review, Ancient Paths Christian Literary Magazine, Reminisce and Lily. Exhibitions include NHAC (North Hills Art Center) Mid-Winter Hues Juried Exhibit Honorable Mention Award and NHAC Fall Membership Multi-media Juried Exhibit 3rd Place Award, both in 2003. In 1987 John was named Personality of America for Outstanding Achievements in the Arts. In 1997 he received the Commemorative Medal of Honor for Outstanding Achievements and Dedication to Personal and Professional Goals from the American Biographical Institute. John lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife and K9, Cola.
