Beauty

When I looked in their
Faces, I saw that they
Meant much to me.
I saw the symmetry
That they dissolved into
And wondered for a moment
Why they didn't break out
Of their skin and see the
crimes that beauty has caused.
What lovely students
These girls are,
Such brightness on their faces
But no resolve to define
What love is.
I took a monumental effort
And stepped outside the picture
Aroused by every skeleton
I saw hideous shapes
A rocking size
All capable of sin
In forty years I've
Took to find that
All anguish is possible.
For no one told me
That abstinence was
The way to get over
